Measurement
What it is for
Section titled “What it is for”On Measurements (Metraj) you keep a measurement book for each claim period. In its lines you write the quantity of work done in the period against published bill of quantities items. When the book is approved it is frozen and a cumulative quantity is stamped per item. The progress claim calculation uses this approved cumulative quantity.

Who uses it
Section titled “Who uses it”The site engineer or quantity surveyor who measures enters lines; an authorized checker approves the book. Permission is on the Construction / Contracting page: Add for books and lines, Edit to send for review, Approve to approve. Separation of duties applies: the person who entered any line in a book cannot approve that book.
Screens
Section titled “Screens”- Contract and measurement book selectors: books are listed by period number, start date and status.
- New Measurement Book: period start and end and an overrun policy (block, warn, or require a change order).
- Measurement line: item, location, period quantity, unit and measured-by; the unit fills in when you pick the item.
- Send for review: moves the book to review; a book without lines cannot be sent.
- Approve (Freeze): optionally tick the overrun approval box and give a reason; after confirmation the cumulative quantity column fills in and the book can no longer be changed.
